Co-parenthood | Participatory Service Design and Implementation
Co-parenthood is a shared-parenting model of foster care which helps parents and carers work together to return children home. The evidence-informed model was co-designed end-to-end with families and practitioners.
Co-parenthood leverages lived experience to create collaborative relationships, build parent’s social networks, and interrupt intergenerational cycles of trauma and disadvantage - linking families into cycles of opportunity and hope.
This model was developed at The Australian Centre for Social Innovation with generous funding from The Sidney Myer Fund. It is currently being implemented by MacKillop Family Services
