Improving Outcomes with the South Sudanese Australian Community | Participatory Design
In a time where Australian media and politics are promoting less helpful narratives about the South Sudanese Community, this project sought to work alongside Community to influence the public narrative and co-produce solutions to improve outcomes across key life -transition points.
Key features of this project included:
- A team of peer South Sudanese co-designers who conducted research, design and prototyping with The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI)
- Collaboration between Community, service providers and Government and the co-production of 4 Community-led solutions
- Co-design approach informed by community development methodologies
- A strengths-based approach to amplifying what works already
This project was funded and made possible by The Department of Health and Human Services Victoria and cohealth, and this project is a finalist in the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards. All content owned by DHHS & cohealth as part of TACSI project.
